β - Carotene is a member of the carotenoids, which are highly pigmented (red, orange, yellow), fat-soluble compounds naturally present in many fruits, grains, oils, and vegetables β-carotene is also called pro-vitamin, because it can be converted into vitamin A after being oxidized and cleaved by β-carotene 15, 150 dioxygenase in our body. In plants, β-carotene acts as an antioxidant and neutralizes singlet oxygen free radicals formed during photosynthesis.Alpha, beta, and gamma carotene are considered pro-vitamins because they can be converted to active vitamin A. Our β- Carotene powder is water-soluble food color which is widely used for yellow to orange foods.
